How much do I love you? How far would I go?
I would go far to Fargo and live in the snow.
I would sled to Seattle and live in the rain,
Or tent in a forest if you were in Maine.
I would lodge in Fort Dodge if you were in Iowa,
I would even fight Indians, Comanche and Kiowa.
You could go overseas and I’d follow you there,
From Angola to Zanzibar, I wouldn’t care.
You could hide in old Heidelberg
Dwell as a dwarf in Dusseldorf
You could bed down in Bavaria
And I’d go there to take care of ya.
Say you went back to Armenia,
Where you know where to hide,
I’d caravan to Yerevan
Just to be by your side.
I could trek over Africa from old Timbuktu
To the strange-sounding city of Ouagadougou.
I would search day and night around the clock
Should you go so far as Vladivostok.
I would go wide-world over from Bali to Mali,
You might as well stay home in Antelope Valley.
Author’s Note: This one was written for a certain Elizabeth, of whom I have written recently.
It is purely delightful to witness this part of your persona. Who knew?! Please give Elizabeth my regards, and that many of us hope to see much more evidence of your influence.
